lets show the team that did all the wonderful work on the new SI and map terrains some love folks, CCP did something incredable with this one and i think we need to have a LOVE thread in amungst all the hate
its safe to say we love the new artwork in the game, you can tell that ALOT of work was put into it and while it isnt perfect gameplay and glitch wise its downright amazing and it shows exactly what CCP wanted for the game, modular maps that have a new awesome feel to them. |

i finally feel like im fighting in 3d, it gives me the feel of old necromunda tabletop action where you fight on levels and every capture point feels like its seperate and distinct
theres so many options for attack and defence ont he new SI that it fosters amazing fights no matter what gear you have |

CCP LogicLoop wrote:I will let Team Daddies know you guys like the new terrain and gameplay areas. I will let the rest of my Team Knee 101 you like the sockets and outpost. Thanks for the love. We appreciate it.
you can really tell that you guys put your all into it, it shows and i have to say that you guys absolutly made this update worthwhile.
the flow is fantastic in the sockets man just fantastic
the way its built you cant help but have awesome tactical gameplay, you guys really really hit the mark on this one not just in looks but the actual design itself.
it matches everything you guys layed out in the level design dev blogs to a tee and im definatly going to give those another read and learn from them |

the swirling vortexes of doom also hurt dropships that try to land on them, i learned that lesson today as well :P |

Brilliant, keep doing the maps like this, as in planning and executing in the way it was developed.
sadly i got into if well after games workshop stopped supporting it, although i did manage to grab a good chunk of an esher gang and made my own kroot gang from 40k parts.
it was such a good game and these new levels bring back so much nastalga. the many different levels within the complexes make for very very very awesome gameplay |

Jimbo1337 wrote:Are you serious? The new maps are a joke! Please tell me how the Ambush bridge map is "great". You fall off the bridge and you can never get back up. Or how about a domination match where the objective is near the redline? Fall off that side and you will never get back up as well.
Or how about the Skirmish match where you spawn on your MCC and realize that an object is 900 meters away? I don't see how these maps are amazing at all.
the ambush bridge redline problem is something easily fixed and such a small thing compaired to the awesome design of the terain and sockets themselves.
the objective being far away one is to foster some vehicle use :P they want dropships and LAVs to have very distinct roles and they have done a very very good job of giving people incentives to use vehicles while at the same time limiting what the vehicles alone can acomplish without infantry support...
all in the map design itself.
it may not seem like it yet, but trust me, once the initial 1.4 rage wears off you will prefer these new maps and infastructer to the rest 100% |

Synbot wrote:Uggh.. does anyone have screenshots, other than the ones in the dev blog, or videos of these maps? I'm still downloading the patch..
pictures cant do it justice, theres so many little nooks and crannys that you just have to get in there dig in and get lost a few hundred times to really apreciate how in depth they are |

i have to ask, did you design the maps with little race tracks in mind for us LAV racers?
because i swear one of them has a perfect start/finish line and an excelent track
(PS i would love to talk maps with ya sometime) |
